Calculation notes
The default planning period is 10 years. You can enter a shorter or longer period. Very long horizons receive guidance rather than being automatically blocked.

How the savings goal calculation works
- Your current savings are allowed to compound over the selected period.
- The calculator estimates the monthly contribution needed to reach the target.
- The projection shows estimated balance changes using the same assumptions.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the default projection 10 years?
Ten years provides a useful initial view. You can enter another projection period at any time.
What does Annual Change mean?
It is the increase in estimated balance during that projection year, including contributions and estimated interest.
Can the projection exceed my savings target period?
No. The table stops at the selected target period even if a longer display period is entered.
