Calculation notes
The default investment period is 10 years. You can freely enter a shorter or longer period. Cash income is treated as part of ending proceeds for the annualized estimate.
How investment return works
- Net gain compares total ending proceeds with the initial investment.
- Total return shows the gain or loss as a percentage of the initial investment.
- Estimated annualized return converts the total change into an equivalent annual growth rate.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no year-by-year table?
Only the starting value, ending value, cash income and period are known. Creating intermediate annual values would imply a growth path that the user did not provide.
Is cash income included?
Yes. Cash income is included in total ending proceeds for the estimated return calculation.
